About Brigitte
For nearly forty years I have worked with my heart and soul as a physical therapist. My journey began in 1984, after my training at Leffelaar in Amsterdam. I later deepened my knowledge with a master’s degree in pelvic physical therapy at SOMT. But my curiosity didn’t stop there; I took numerous continuing education courses, from neurological exercise therapy to podiatry.
Why did I choose pelvic physical therapy? This stems from my own experiences, especially after having my three children. It is an area that is often forgotten or not well understood, but that is precisely why it feels so special to be able to help people. That personal touch makes each treatment unique.
Working as a physical therapist has proven to be a lifelong passion for me. Each half hour, each new treatment, offers a new challenge. It is never routine. I feel fulfilled when I see my patients leave with a smile, or when they tell me about improvements in their lives, such as sleeping better or no longer experiencing urinary or fecal leakage.
Why do I work at FysioMCN? That goes back to more than 30 years ago, when Azad asked me to set up MCN with Ron and Ad. It was a leap of faith, but I haven’t regretted it for a moment. Azad is a born entrepreneur and together with Bas they continue to innovate and grow MCN. The team is fantastic; from young talents to experienced rockers like myself. We complement each other and ensure that each patient receives the right care.
And in my spare time? There I enjoy my family, fitness, tennis, hiking and biking. And sometimes just relaxing with a good book on the couch. Because even after nearly forty years, balance remains important, both in my work and in my life.
