If you have supplementary insurance for physical therapy, treatments will be reimbursed. The reimbursement you receive for physical therapy can vary depending on your insurance. Intake and examination physical therapy/exercise therapy
In some cases, physical therapy is covered by your basic insurance.
The rules are quite complicated. When in doubt, ask your physical therapist or health insurance company for clarification.
Physiotherapy reimbursement from basic insurance for children/youth up to 18 years of age
Up to age 18, the first 9 treatments of physical therapy are covered anyway. Reimbursement of additional treatments requires permission from the health insurance company.
Up to age 18, physical therapy for conditions on the list of chronic disorders physical therapy are fully reimbursed.
Up to age 18, the same rules apply for osteoarthritis of the knee or hip, urine leakage, etalage legs and hospitalization as for adults.
Physiotherapy reimbursement from basic insurance from age 18 and up
If you have a condition that is on the list of chronic conditions is on the list of chronic conditions, physical therapy is covered from the 21ste treatment is reimbursed from the basic insurance.
For osteoarthritis of the knee or hip, you will be reimbursed for a maximum of 12 treatments in 12 months.
In case of urine leakage, you will be reimbursed for 9 treatments of pelvic physical therapy once.
For etalage legs, you will be reimbursed for up to 37 treatments per year
For COPD, depending on the disease burden and disease stability (lung attacks), you will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 70 treatments per year
