Patients with FNS may experience a wide range of symptoms, including paralysis, decreased sensation in their skin, jerky movements, seizures resembling epilepsy, hearing loss or impaired vision, and most patients experience pain to a greater or lesser degree. Nothing shows up on scans. Therefore, there is nothing structurally broken in the nervous system. There is a functional disorder, that is, the inability of the brain to send and receive signals correctly. You could say there is something wrong with the software not the hardware.<\/p>\n

Fifteen percent of all people who visit a neurologist annually have symptoms of FNS. There are 85,000 patients in the Netherlands, 3,000 of whom are in serious condition. Although FNS is the second most common reason for a neurological outpatient visit after migraine, there are still many general practitioners and neurologists who do not adequately recognize FNS and therefore do not diagnose and treat it correctly.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
