I completed my physical therapy training at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and graduated in 2016.\nMy career at Physiotherapy MCN began with an internship and I officially joined the staff in December 2023.\nIn addition to my basic training, I took courses on re-analysis of running technique and treatment of dizziness complaints. <\/p>
My specializations are in orthopedic rehabilitation and sports rehabilitation.\nThese areas appeal to me because patients are often motivated and much progress is possible, something they are not always aware of.\nIt gives me great satisfaction to give patients back the confidence in their bodies, especially those who have already surrendered to their symptoms. <\/p>
I primarily treat patients with complaints of the ankle, knee, hip and spine.\nWhat makes working as a physical therapist so special to me is my own love of sports and exercise.\nHaving experienced injuries myself, I know what it is like to be limited and lose confidence in your own body.\nThe mental aspect of physical complaints is often underestimated.\nTherefore, I find it special and motivating to help and guide people through their recovery.
In addition to my work in practice, I can regularly be seen at athletics club Atos where I enjoy coaching, advising and treating athletes with injuries. <\/p>
I get satisfaction from my work when I can clearly explain to patients what is wrong with their bodies.\nFor example, there are many misunderstandings about osteoarthritis.\nIt often gives patients a huge relief when they hear that exercise is not bad, but actually good for them. <\/p>
I chose to work at FysioMCN because it is a professional organization with many different specialties.\nWe strive for good cooperation between all the specialists, which means we learn a lot from each other and always continue to grow. <\/p>
Outside of work, I am involved in sports a lot.\nI have always played soccer, but nowadays I mainly focus on kickboxing, cycling and CrossFit.\nIn addition, my big passion is music.\nI sing and play guitar in a bluegrass band that I perform with monthly.\nI also sometimes spin as a DJ at parties. <\/p>
